You Made All the Difference
Dear readers,
The first year since the launch of Unknown Focus has been marked by numerous studies, interviews, rare cases, as well as visits from readers in Japan, Canada, the USA, numerous European countries, Australia, and other parts of the world. The unexpectedly high number of visits, along with the support we have received, has shown us what needs to be improved, what should remain, and what could be made more useful to researchers and to our readers.
That is why, from August 13 to September 7, we dedicated our time to researching, analysing, and preparing changes that we will gradually introduce in the period ahead.
One thing will remain the same: Unknown Focus content will continue to be completely free and without a paywall. At the same time, we want our content to become higher quality, easier to navigate, more visually appealing, and more engaging. Our goal has never been to become another source of news or to do the work that the media already do. From the very beginning, we had an idea of creating something different. That idea will become increasingly clear over the coming months, and by the beginning of 2027, we want Unknown Focus to become what we envisioned.
It is not always easy.
We are currently a team of just two people, and alongside Unknown Focus, we also have our jobs. Sometimes, after months of continuous work, we reach a point where even reading a new study becomes difficult. Fatigue sets in, and so does a loss of concentration.
Something We Didn’t Expect
That is why something that happened during the period when there were no new publications meant so much to us.
From August 13 to September 7, you continued to visit our website.
For us, that may be the greatest reward of all. It shows that Unknown Focus is not only about what we publish. It exists because of the people who read, return, send us emails, share suggestions, and want to see this website become even better. Thanks to you, your words, emails, the time you have taken to read our work, and the support you have given us, we now have a clearer vision, and you are a part of it.
When Unknown Focus was launched, the idea was somewhat different. But month after month, we have been paying attention to what needs to change, how we should work, and, perhaps most importantly, what Unknown Focus should become once we bring everything we have envisioned together.
So we want to use this post to say one big:
THANK YOU.
Thank you for visiting.
Thank you for your time.
Thank you for your emails and suggestions.
Thank you for your support.
And thank you for wanting to see Unknown Focus become even better. It means far more to us than we could ever fully express in a single post. Thank you for being with us, and thank you for recognising the value of what we are trying to build.
This is only the beginning.
